We took a last minute trip to Mammoth Mountain. I am sitting in a Condo with basically this same view, about a 1/4 mile away. Started snowing about three hours ago. Looks nasty, but we will probably ski a little later. We skied yesterday, man am I out of shape :%

Anyway, us SoCal residents basically drive to Blizzards for the fun of it . . . :=

I am jealous! Oh to have snow! Our ski resorts have not yet opened - not cold enough to make snow and no natural stuff falling from the sky (2 inches in early December is all). The local ski resort usually has between 50 - 70 inches of NATURAL snow by now, plus the man-made stuff. They have only had 7 inches of natural snow and even the man-made has melted. They have lost 27% of their annual revenue already this ski season!:%

Wow, tough season aspeck. It has been a really late one here too. So much so that I was resisting going as I can get good man-made 1-1/2 hours from home and this is 5+. Snowing sideways now, really hard gusts. I love skiing in storms, so I will be out soon, but I think the younger kids are gonna poop out fast . . .

In spite of the weather, it does not look like there is any shortage of skiers. Don't go pulling a Kennedy or Bono on us now!;)

Oh my! I'm salivating. You should stop on the way home and get some of their ground pork sausage. None better. They won't ship it though.

OK I did. Plan worked perfectly. Little kids were done by 1:00; the wind died down a little and there was some decent accumulation for some fresh tracks. I felt like carp last night after skiing, and I was thinking my life was over :'( Let's just say the 18YO still has to work to keep up with the Old Man 8)

Pretty much nowhere else except maybe New Zealand. Although I am at Mammoth, I have done almost all of my skiing within 2 Hours of home. The best is only 45 minutes away, but they need a lot of natural, so some years great, some years not so much. Our best Snowmaking weather is usually when it is around 75 at the beach and crystal clear. We have a perfect little winter wind pattern that's dry and cold in the mountains and warms up to between 60 - 85 the closer you get to the beach. There's a reason there are 15 Million of us down here . . . :%

Dude, like wow. I'm thinking you are connected, It's kinda dark at the ski area now. If you look long enough maybe you'll catch a Snow Cat := On the other hand, maybe the iboats gang overloaded it 8)

Edit: It took forever to connect but I saw this:

"Mammoth Mountain live interactive web cameras restrict control access from 6PM to 6AM to respect the privacy of our guests."

Which basically meant you can't control it. Maybe some of the cams can zoom in on rooms? When it did finally connect, black screen, just like the view out the window . . .
