where does speedometer hose go?

I have a 95 200hp mariner, The speedometer hose came off near the motor and i cant see where it goes,can someone tell me?

mine is connected right above front nut that bolts on the lower unit.

I still dont see it .Theres not a place above the nut that bolts on the lower unit.<br />.

should be lookin for a rubber fitting, or plastic elbo. trace hose from the transom clamps down to the lower unit, should have a intake hole infront of gear box. small hole in edge.

Rather than give up, I'd suggest you post a picture of what exactly you are trying to describe. For example, you have a free end of a speedo hose in your hands. Is one end still attached to the boat, or is the one end still attached to the motor?<br /><br />Often, you'll see the speedo tube exiting from the lower unit is just plugged and not used (ie. it just hangs there doing nothing). Instead the owners install an aftermarket pitot pickup at the lower edge of the boat's transom and run the tubing up to the helm guage from there.

the hose is connected to the back of the speedometer at the dash.it runs to the back of the boat.i never saw it hanging there until i blow the hose out with my compressor from the speedometer end.i'm thing it blow off when i did that. but i be damned if i can see where it goes. there is only about 14"of hose hanging over the transom.and you can tell that the hose was connect to something by looking at the end of the hose.its a little bigger at the very end.

You didnt have to post two separate threads.<br /><br />In cas you missed my other post, here is what I said.<br /><br />OK, Im looking right at mine, there is an opening right behind the forward most nut that holds the lower unit on, (Towards the front of the engine and its hard to see). I had to buy a new peice for mine once and I have another one if you need it. They are a cheap plastic peice of cr*p. You have to remove the lower unit to connect it. They are about $10.00 at your dealer.
