I keep mine in the frige, my Mom always kept hers in the cupboard. Here is what Heinz.com has to say about it....<br />

Should ketchup be refrigerated? <br />Because it is a very acidic product, ketchup does not spoil easily. Once opened, in order to maintain the product's quality more effectively, we do suggest that ketchup (and any other processed food) be refrigerated after opening because refrigeration retards spoilage.

cupboard before refridge after. we dont use much ketchup tho. i hardly put it on anything. unless there is something wrong with it. why spoil a good burger or french fry.

I needed a third option "In the kids". Both my youngest used to eat ketchup, plain, no fries, no rot dog, no hamburger, just ketchup. We didn't let them but a big spoonful fromt he puddle on the plate was a sure thing. My doughter used ot seem like she thought ketchup was the ONLY food group.<br /><br />We keep it in the fridge, grew up that way, and I like it cold.<br /><br />And I agree there's no other ketchup, only Heinz. Just like it's only Miracle Whip and Campbell's Soup. Somethings just don't have a second best.
