where do u hook the flusher up at

i have an old lark rude it has electric starter, i use a 12 volt battery, its 35 hp, on a 60's glaspar 14' fiberglass, i love classic. Do i need a special flusher, the one i have, the flush cups are round and they dont hook up right to impell water so i have to put the prop in a garbage can filled with water to flush out my motor. I believe its a 1958. It runs like a champ, and is cleaner than the engine on my 77' ford

Welcome to I-Boats!<br /><br />You will find it very hard to find a flusher for these motors. The main water pickup is behind the prop, on the leading edge of the exaust outlet. The easiest way to flush these engines is in a barrel or tub of some sort.<br /><br />One thing to watch out for is the float in the carb. They were orginally fitted with a cork float. These do not last very long with todays fuels. There is a rebuild kit that includes a new plastic float which you can get from your local Evinrude/Johnson dealer.<br /><br />If you have any other questions about your motor, post it in the Evinrude /Johnson forum, alot of knowledge there. also do a search on Lark useing the forums search function(it's in red at the top of the page) you will find lots of info. One last thing, a few people to really listen to about your engine; Joe Reeves, Dhadley, Paul Moir, Rodbolt.
