Where do these parts go?

I'm replacing the water pump impeller on my '88 100hp Mercury. The kit made by Sierra came with these parts. Where do the O-rings go? What numbers are they on this parts diagram?

More than likely that kit will service several models as it's cheaper for them to offer a kit that covers more than 1 model VS stocking several dedicated kits.I had extra parts in my waterpump kit as well.

I just helped a buddy change the impeller on his 1989 100HP. When we disassembled the lower unit the gasket item #24 was not installed under the impeller plate. When we reassembled the motor we did not install this gasket.
How important is this gasket? I assume it is not all that necessary as his motor did not have one.
