Where do I start, 35HP Merc oil injection.

I just purchased a bass tracker that has a 35 HP merc oil injection engine on it. The boat has not been run in several years. The motor did crank when I put a battery to it. The steering system is frozen. I would appreciate any recommnedations on what to do to get it in running condition. Thanks
