That engine and drive is too old to look up the exact serial number on, but if the engine is a 351, then it would be a 233 from around 1976. Maybe late 75.

yes, it is a 233...so they only made these 233s in late 75-76?...and is it stock? ive read the 888s where hooked to a 5.0, so did these boats come with the 888 and the 5.0 was swapped for a 351, or did the boat come with the 351 and the 888 drive was a replacement for whatever is suppose to be on her? ...the info ive found says my boat is an OB...lol http://boatspecs.iboats.com/Sea_Ray_Boats__SRV-190__1975/bp/66b75876

The 233 and the 888 are two different engines. The 888 is a 302, and the 233 is a 351. The drives also have different gear ratios for each engine. 233 was a 1.32 and the 888 was a 1.50.

Mercruiser only used Fords from 71 to 77, and the 233 from 75 thru 77.

ive read the 888s where hooked to a 5.0,
The 888 is a 5.0L (302) engine, and the drive was named 888 to match. It's a MC-1 drive with a 1.50 gear ratio.
The 233 is a 5.8L (351) engine, and the drive was named 233 to match. It's a MC-1 drive with a 1.32 gear ratio.
