I'm looking for some places to start skiing again near Boston. Freshwater only, I don't plan on skiing out in the ocean. The lower Mystic lake would be a perfect place to ski, damn massachusetts hippies! (looks in mirror, doh!).
But where else? I know you can ski in Derry NH, which is about 35 miles. There must be some places closer than that though? It's so hard to find ANY information at all about the rules of any specific body of water in massachusetts. I still don't even know where you're supposed to slow down to no-wake when you're coming into Boston harbor. Boating in mass is a big secret.
Also Spot Pond in stoneham would be a GREAT place for some recreational boating if they accurately mapped out all of the hazards with buoys. But as of right now, that pond is rent-a-dcr-sailboat-only. Too bad, it's a good size pond too. I could skill all day there, it's also like 5 minutes from my house.
Is there a list somewhere, of lakes where you can ski? And/or lakes that have even a little bit of non-no-wake-zone?
