I just purchased an 82' Kingfisher and one of the windshields is missing and the other is cracked looking. Does anyone know where to get parts for these boats?

Forgot to post the other night......

Look for info on window down in corner... All boat mfg use outside source for windshields..... Do you still have the frame on broken side???

Taylor-Made was one of them, they have specs for old windows & will be able to make a new one for you... if glass is just busted & still have frame... carry to glass shop & they can put in appropriate pane & re-install frame back on boat...

Let me know......

------------------
"Keep It Between The Bouys" & "Good Luck"!!!

fone_man

The windshield on my boat was a tinted plexy glass type. the boat has two sep windshields.
Do you think Taylor-Made made these, or can remake some? I only have the one good side. It looks as though it would fit both sides.

It is a bass boat with two consoles. There is no center glass, It has two tinted plexiglass rap around windshields, kinda squared off, They are about 16" tall and 18" wide with about 4" side

try these folks... found on web:

Windshields?
We've had several customers ask about a source for molded plexiglass windshields...
Specialty Marine in Santa Ana, CA was recommended by one of our builders. They list stock patterns for a large number of production boats and will evidently make custom windshields to suit your needs.

Specialty Marine
1723 So. underwater:

I am reposting this over for you... let me know what you found on previous post.

---------------------------------------------
fone_man
Captain
Member # 3352
Member Rated:

posted August 22, 2001 08:58 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BULLDOG:
In an interest to assist the members of iboats.com, I have been researching the issue of windshields for thier boats, etc..

My experiences have ranged from using a local supplier for glass for 87 FourWinns to locating alunimum frame work for my 86 FourWinns in FL, so I guess I would have a 75% success rate!!!

What I have seen in various spots on the Web is Plastic Companies specializing in recreating new windshields/windscreens from old ones (making mold) or completely replacing with new framework, etc. which would include some fiberglass repair.

The above would facilitate removing existing windshield/windscreen and forwarding to one of these fabricators... so it looks like in the off-season you will be removing such & starting a new project to keep yoursewlf entertained throughout the winter months.

So... if you have flat tempered glass, your local glass company can get something to work but you need to remove framework to have it done correctly... off-season again!!! If you have a plexiglass/lexan windshield that is curved then you will be looking at having one made via a plastics company.

Try to contact the boat manufacturer of your boat & get specs/supplier for windshield... they have records, make sure you take pictures that can be forwarded to the supplier & specifications. With the consolidation of the boat manufacturers industry, your boat might be made by someone else now or a different supplier is used.

Yours being a Bayliner, shouldn't be much of a problem but I would also research the used/junk boatyard locations within your area & if you find a boat/model like yours you might get lucky... I know this doesn't answer your question but if you need some sources, feel free to email me at... fone_man@bellsouth.net & I will forward what info I have & hope this will help resolve your issue at hand.
