Hey guys,

I don't have any numbers yet until I go and see the boat & motor I am going to look at. The boat is a 1987, & the guy said the motor is a newer Mercury 110 horse power. I wanted to look it up and can not find a 110 Mercury motor for 1987 or any other year. Am I missing it? I know it will be easier with a model #, but just wondering if there is such an animal as a 110 Mercury outboard motor? What year did they make them? Thanks!

Other than the jet, Merc made Merc 1100's or 110 HP. No idea what years,

How big is the boat because mercury labeled some of there 9.8 hp as 110 motors. Evinrude made a 110 Hp in those years

Thanks for the replies and the numbers. I have something to go by now when I go and see the boat. The boat looks great, always stored indoors and very little use and close to my home, so I will check it out. It's a 16-1/2 foot boat, and nice looking trailer.

Lots of sellers. and owners often think their motors are newer than they are. The inline 6s looked identical externally from 1965 till 1979, well there was most often a slight difference in the wrap around Decal. From 1980 till 1987 there some changes in the gearcase, wiring harness, front cover plate, and the power trim system. I would hardly call a 67 a "newer" model

Ya mean my Merc 500 isn't 500 ponies? I've been real careful cuz I thought my boat was overpowered. LOL

Forgot about the Merc 110. With an unknown 16 1/2 ft. boat, it could be a 9.9 or 110 HP. No telling at this point until iggy lays his hands on her.

Hope she follows you home if she's in good shape.
