I have an M50D2 three carburetor Tohatsu 50hp (auto mixing). How often should the water pump impella be changed?

A general rule of thumb is every two years unless you run in brackish or salt water then every year.

It's not unusual to get 5 or more years on a water pump kit. But, as preventive maintenance, just as 86 century indicated, once every two years is normal.

Will depend also on the material employed to make the impeller, it's use in clean, murky, sandy waters, how long impeller sits in same position. Tohatsu impellers do outlast most other brand impellers in same water conditions.

Yes, New England. You read my voice; and I listen to "Cah Talk". I don't intend to sail off the coast of Florida near Cuber.
