what's wrong with your johnson?

i've noticed the past couple days that there's a lot of threads about johnson outboard issues, but when my family and i went to the river two weeks ago i seen more johnson outboards(all sizes and years) than any other outboard, EVEN YAMAHA!!!

Which Johnson? I have 5 of them .

Boat motors are going to break down weather we like it or not . Some are liable to break down due to lack of maintenance, some are liable to break down due to an original part giving out etc etc.

In my opinion ,I think they are the most reliable and easy to work on.To bad omc went under.

the Johnson and Evinrude, has more motors running, than any other brand. it is not uncommon, to see a 50 year old J/E running is not unusual. if you notice the total number of post in the engine forums, J/E are double the other, the reason they have been around nearly 100 years. where Mercury only goes back to the 1950's.
