Re: What's this motor worth??
Is that a 1973? The value varies widely depending on condition. Does it have a new impeller? Has the carb been properly cleaned and rebuilt recently? Are the coils new? What condition is the lower unit in? Is the lower unit oil changed every season? Is the motor properly fogged each year before storage? How much compression are you getting from each cylinder? Does it have new spark plug wires and spark plugs? Etc.

Without more information, it's hard to give an accurate value. It also varies by region and demand for such motors.

U.S. dollars are about 1.10 Canadian dollars, right?

In U.S. $, my shot in the dark guess would be maybe $300. So that's like $330 Canadian to you.

A good used 9.9 could run you double that, maybe more if in excellent condition.

Try to check your local internet ads or newspapers for comparable 4HP motors. That would give you a more accurate idea. Around here we have the "Recycler." Maybe some fellow Canadians can chime in.

Good Luck,
Kev
