I have a 2001 evinrude 200 hp with a modified lower unit (shallow water) with hyd jack plate. It is mounted on a 22' Hydro sport LTS with the tunnel hull. I am not sure what the max rpm's are. (i think @5500 rpm). I have noticed that on a tight turn I am getting alot of cavitation and power loss. The boat seems to be running slow with high rpms. It has a 3 blade prop and I have no idea of the pitch. I am wanting a good all around prop that will give me some performance speed but not totally rob what fuel economy. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

The best possible advise i could guess is that i would probally use a 141/4 x 19 or a 141/8x21 4blade cyclone depending on weight of the boat

Howdy.

What you are getting is ventilation. The prop is grabbing air and making foam.

The most probable cause is that the prop is too high or trimmed out too far.

Changing props would do no good without first getting it into the water.

Good luck. :)

I had that on my boat. A larger diameter prop pitched down one notch helped. How is your hole shot? ( I went from a 13 x 19 to a 14 x 17) Lost 2 mph at the top end, but got better hole shot and no cavitation.

you may want to try an OMC shooter or Renegade 4 blade for the best of both worlds

Before you go spending a ton of money on a prop, my recommendation would be the same as JB's...Drop the heigth a little and see what happens first.
You don't have a transducer or speed sensor within 12" of center on either side, do you???
