If I understand correctly Yamaha made a stern drive unit for a while but no longer does.

What years did they make them?

Are parts hard to get, impossible to get?

Is a boat with Yamaha sterndrive a white elephant?

Where they any good?

Thanks

Re: what's the deal w/yamaha stern drives

My conversations with my mechanic while I looking to purchase another boat is that Yahmaha is supporting the parts and that all in all it was a fairly good unit. As you may have figured lead times for parts is a little long and the prices are a bit higher than would be normally expected.

The big question is how long will the support remain. Can't answer that one.

Doug

You want the scoop on Yammie Drives? Call Ken at 850-234-0854. He is one of the last (of the first) Yammie Stern drive guys left. It was a great drive! Parts on the other hand ARE NOT! He keeps available parts in stock. He also can lead you to re-power or used parts.
