What's the best way to lubricate water pump on I/O

How do I go about lubing the water pump on my I/O?<br /><br />I DON'T have freshwater cooling.<br />I would like to run some kind of lube in there once in a while.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />H.

That is not a maintenance issue.Your lower unit pump should be inspected or replaced every three years ,or more often in salt or nasty water.There is no way to lube the circ,or seawater pump ,that I know of.Why the question?

The best way to lube a water pump is to stick it in water. The water acts like lube for the pump.
