Whats the best spark plugs for an Evinrude Ficht 150HP?

I have a 2001 Evinrude Ficht Ram 150. I have over 150 hours on it. The dealer replaced the plugs at 70 hours. I think I am ready for new ones and would like to know if there are better ones on the market than Original Equipments.<br /><br />Thanks

Champion XC12PEPB ( or 955 ) is the OEM. I'm having trouble with a brand new 2000 Ficht 150 that is missing and stumbling at around 3000 rpm. Are you having any problems with yours? My spark plugs on the lefy side are becoming fouled after only a few hours.<br /><br />------------------

I am not really having any problems. I do hear it stumble once in a while at low RPM's. maybe about 2K, but nothing serious. I haven't inspected my plugs. The dealer did my 20 hr check at 72 hrs and did there normal routine. I acually got it back starting a bit harder. I figure it's the plugs either not gaped or just a lousy brand. Once warmed up it runs great.<br />I must be pushing 150 hours by now and would like to replace them with the best I can get my hands on.<br />Although I haven't experienced any real engine trouble with my new motor, I have had to have the deal replace my lower unit. Something about a soft gear?? It was covered under warranty and it turns out they had a high performance lower unit in stock. Being that it went on the first day of our vacation they gave me the better unit. I have been treated very well by my dealer.<br /><br />Good luck with your engine trouble. Sounds like an auto lube problem on your left side. Ficht is a direct injection. Maybe their is a metering problem or an injector problem on that side? Just a guess. I also have an oil leak that I have to track down. It drips 2 cycle oil over night. Not much but its expensive stuff.

I like either NGK or Splitfire plugs. I have also had very good luck with Autolites they seem to run hotter and not foul out like the crummy champion plugs that come in everything.<br /><br />John<br /> http://www.hunt-fish.com

I have to agree. I love NGK's, or Bosch when NGK's aren't available. I have had 2 Champion plugs DOA right out of the box on seperate occasions. After that second dud, I no longer buy 'em.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU EVER SOLVED THE PROBLEM WHICH OCCURED WITH YOUR 2000 150 FICHT AS I HAVE A 2000 115 FICHT AND ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS ,MISSING AT 4600 TO 5000 RPMS , AND WILL NOT EXCEED 5200 RPM ,
