I've been looking around for a new Spinning reel/combo on Cabela's and one at Bass Pro.These are some of the combos that I have been considering...

Combos from Cabelas
- Cabela's Tournament ZX/Tourney Trail Spinning Combo
$89.98

-Pflueger President/Tourney Trail Spinning Combo
$89.94

- Mitchell 300 XGE/Tourney Trail Spinning Combo
$89.98

- Pflueger Medalist Spinning Reel Combo
$99.95

Combo from BassPro

- Pflueger President Reel/Extreme XPS Rod Combo
$99.94

I have it narrowed down to this for now.I don't have much experience with BassPro's XPS rod but it doesn't LOOK like a bad rod.So I'm not sure if I should get the Plueger President reel from Cabela's and get the tourney rod or from BassPro and get the XPS rod.I don't know if the Pflueger rods are worth anything so I hesitate to buy the Medalist.I own a Mitchell right now that hasn't let me down and I haven't heard anything bad about them. Then Cabela's Tournament ZX reel looks pretty nice but my dad has had some bad experiences with Diawa.I would appreciate any thoughts on any of the above reels/rods.And if anyone has any other combos that would be better than the ones I mentioned go ahead and let me know. Thanks for ANY help.I'm pretty stuck on this and I hate spending money on junk:)

I have a friend that fish's plueger reels and loves them. Cabelas has a pleuger combo right now that has a better rod and the same reel as the one you listed and it is even a little less money.

Also there is a quantum combo that is a good deal at cabelas right now. I like this one even better.

One thing you did not mention is what kind of fish you will be targeting . That makes a difference.
