What year?

I have a 55HP Chrysler outboard model #554BA S/N 1003 and would like to know what year it is. All help is appreciated. Thanks.

Double check ALPHA in Model #... sure it isn't HA???<br /><br />

Just double checked the number and it is a 554BA. Made in Canada.

Check out "the chrysler crew" website... he probably has more info on these outboards... I do not have anything that references & gives exact year model... Man, I tried but I have run up against the wall on a couple issues this week & what I really need is someone to throw me a bone so my life is just a little easier right now!!! Hi Tom<br />Thanks for the info. Now I can get a service manual and not be too worried about getting the wrong year. The motor runs great now with lots of commpression 145 top cyl. and 150 botton cyl. but I'm sure I will need a woter pump sooner or later.<br />Thanks to all who replied.<br />Rob
