what year?

i have a 15 hp johnson..model 15EL77M, serial# E4658781..what year is this thing?<br />other question is, it is overheating...water pump works, but when i hooked a garden hose to the tube going up to the powerhead ( foot is off)<br />no water comes out the little pisser tube..it's running out somewhere i cant see...<br />i tried putting an air line to the small line, and i can hear it in the supply tube..compression is fairly even on both cyls..<br />how do i change the supply tube?<br />

The engine is a 1977 15hp Johnson. Remove the water tell tale outlet assy (proper name) and clean it out. Install a new water pump assy and thermostat assy.<br /><br />Supply tube? If you're speaking of the copper water tube, you'll need to remove the powerhead in order to do that.
