What year Yamaha?

4 horse Yamaha....what year and can I get an owner's manual.<br /><br />Plate on the side reads:<br /> 4SJ<br />6EO S 069529

As far as I know at least. I don't know if the 1984 4 hp is the same as yours. But why does Clymer and Seloc say "1984-"? I Don't know. If its that old, then its a European model. Yamaha didn't start selling in the states until 84. If its a Yamaha built for overseas market, there will be no manual or parts available for it in the states. 1984 was SN, 1985 was SK and 86 would have been SJ but there is no 4 hsp engine listed for the year 86. The smallest engine built in 86 was the 9.9 SJ for the US market.
