What year this engine

desperately need to get as much info on this engine as soon as poss ...i am trading my boat tomorrow and need to know as much as poss about this engine ie year origin reliability and things to look for as in possible faults .the 2 numbers the present owners have supplied are<br />C0082818 and DG126LT29 and they say its an evinrude 50 hp but they dont seam to have much idea about year etc<br />cheers in advance

Panther<br /><br />Cannot find a year with those numbers. Need the Model number to do any good. Is this a newer Motor(1980 on) or older? 1980 and on will have a number similar to this: E50TLCS with the CS denoting the year. Before 1980 it will look something like this: 50443,50514, Ect. See if you can come up with more numbers and I'm sure someone will figure it out.

i think it is older than 1980 looking at the photosbut they dont know where to find the numbers and those where all they found do you know where to look ? also do you know the formula for older engines ? i have the formula for after 1980 but not before :(

Look Here and click on Modellguide at the top of the page. This should help. Numbers will be on the transom bracket(Bracket that the Motor Mounts to the boat with) or on a silver recessed plug on the engine powerhead. The plug is about the size of a quarter.

Thank for the help i have print the pages of with all enginge serials so hopefully when i get there i will be able to identify it :)
