Re: What Year....Model number??
Thanks.....how did you know that???
in the year your motor was made OMC was using a coded system for describing outboard models and their differnces
there are several sources for looking up that resource.
but it is based on the first letter calling out the manufacturer( american versions..foreigns motors are differnt from OMC)
J= johnson
E=evinrude
the next number is the horsepower yours=110
the next letter tells if it is a manual trim or an electric trim and if it is electric start
T= electric start power tilt and trim
the next letter is the shaft length
L= long
( I forget the other two designations they may be S for short and X for Xtra long...not 100 % sure there)
the next 2 letters are the last digits of the year of the motor
and they are assigned in on the word INTRODUCES
I=1
N=2
T=3
R=4
O=5
D=6
U=7
C=8
E=9
S=0
your motor being CD = 86
the last letter may or may not be there and it has nothign to do with the model identification...it is a code used at the factory for something
wow....that probably was a few places on the search button!!!
