What year Mercury do I have?

Just bought a Avon Seasport 4.25 with a 50 hp. Mercury. The Avon is a 1993 and I would like to about the engine. The serial no. is OD233707. I believe it is a classic. Also after running for less than two minutes a steady alarm goes off. Help if you can. Also what is the best gas/oil mix for this engine.<br /><br />Thanks in advance.<br /><br />Allen

do you have water circulation? is it oil injected?....correct oil in tank?.......and correct level..

Your engine should run fine on pre-mix fuel with the ratio of 50:1. But like crazyray <br />says...we need more info.<br /><br />Walt
