Hey all, <br /><br />Just wondering what year this motor is, its a Mariner 30 hp.<br /><br />Serial/Date Plate: 689 - S - 025967<br /><br />Any commen problems with this motor? <br />Thanks for any info.<br />-John

By the way, I checked the compression on this motor and got 125lbs in both clynders. Im assuming this is good? Thanks for the info, I just bought the motor for $450 and im wondering what else I should check (I can return it if I find any problems by Monday).<br />-John

Pull the bottom plug on the gear case after it has sat up right for a awhile. Nothing but nice clean oil should dribble out. There should be no water or milky crud.<br />Capt Ron
