What year is this Johnson?

I recently purchased a used sailboat with a Johnson Seahorse Sailmaster 9.9, Mod# J10SELESC, Ser# R08589102. Can anyone tell me from the Mod# or Ser# what year this engine was manufactured? Also, where can I obtain a User Manual and/or Service Manual?<br /><br />Thanks

Howdy, SA.<br /><br />Your engine is a 1990 9.9HP.<br /><br />You can get an aftermarket Repair manual right here. Bottom of the page. Click on Repair Manuals.<br /><br />You can probably find factory repair and user manuals on ebay.<br /><br />Good luck.
