What Year is my old Merc 4.5hp??

Greetings,<br /><br /> I have an old Mercury 4.5HP Outboard. It sat in my garage for nearly 12 years w/o a lick of use or winterization, and with 30 minutes of work I got the sucker running, and well I might add.<br /> I do however want to know what year this guy is. The only ID on the motor is the Serial # and that is: 5690855<br /><br /> Can anyone of you help me determine what year this is?<br /><br /> Also, the water pump seems to work very well. It pissed lots of water at all RPM's. There is only one hole though that seems to be were the Lower unit lube goes. Does anyone know how to change this lube in these old motors?<br /><br />Thanks guys.<br /><br />John
