What Year is my Mariner 8hp? Please anyone

Can any body out there help me to Identify the age of my Mariner 8hp O.Board, so that I can purchase the correct shop manual?<br /> The details that I have are:-<br /><br /> Mariner 8ML 6G1 L <br /> C.D.I.<br /> It has coloured stripes around cover, the bottom 2 being 2 different shades of Orange.<br /><br />Please Help if you can....Bob<br /><br />P.S.<br />If you have the correct manual surplus to your requirements and live here in the UK I would gladley purchase.<br /><br />------------------

If what you've posted is the engine serial number, then I'm confident someone will soon respond with the correct year of your motor. I'm always passing on what I've always been told: Be sure to include your engine's serial number when inquiring about parts, literature, etc.... Good luck!

Whoops! ..Bear, I have just found the following on the User Manual. 'Brunswick Corp. 1985'. Also the fuel refers to unleaded Petrol, which I think was after 1978.<br /> I don't know were you got the 677 from. Could you have meant 1988?<br /><br />Thank's for your input though, ..Bob

8 B233200 - B385499 1988 That's possible. <br />I meant 1978 before and I was wrong. Really sorry. All I did was copy that row.<br />You can see for yourself here: http://www.marinshopen.se/guide/mp/mariner8.htm <br />Some in swedish but not anything that hard to guess I hope?<br /><br />We don't use anything but unleaded fuel for old twostrokes. There is no leaded fuel around here. And no fuel additives are required.<br />By the way I have a Johnson 6 hp 1965 that works just fine. And a Honda 50 1998 that runs lika a dream.
