What year is my Evinrude?

Hi Everyone!<br /><br />I am new to outboards (I have been fishing with a trolling motor up until now and am venturing to gas! ) <br /><br />I just bought a outboard motor at a yard sale for $25 bucks (the price was right), but I am not sure what it is. There are no visible model names and I was able to remove some paint from it and find a serial number. In my limited experience it appears to be somewhere around 3-4 horsepower, but that is just a guess.<br /><br />The serial number appears to be 8034-10910<br /><br />Also, From what I understand it will run and has good compression...is this a worthwhile fix? Can I get parts/manual for it? What would be my first step?<br /><br />I am pretty handy, but have never worked on an outboard before, so keep that in mind.<br /><br />Thanks in advance and Happy Boating!<br /><br />Petey

Double check your #. Could it be 3034-10910. If so, it's a 1960 3 hp.

Thanks, I will double check the serial number, it was a bit hard to read.

Thanks Peter O,<br /><br />I doubled check the serial number last night, and wouldn't you know it...after a little tooth brushing with Mineral Spirits, it is:<br /><br />3034-10910<br /><br />1960 3hp it is!<br /><br />Thanks for the help!<br /><br />Petey
