uhhhh, buy out all JB's neighbors and put in a private fishing resort for all my buddies here ;)
and SBN is ref for all those biggest fish contests. and all applications for enrollment go thru plywoody. and all prelaunch inspections go thru djohns. and all events are emcee'd by derwood. vittles are selected by skinny and security is run by sloopy. and annual boat building classes are given by crabbie. bldg maint is done by SSM, boatrides are given by 12ftr, and technical seminars are given by everyone wanting a boatslip. a covered dish dinner is offered for/by those wanting to join.

some seminars might incl:
-schematic
-dhadley
-joe
-a best of the best with the boatmotor techs when they can step away from their shop
-emergency meds for partiharti victims by beaux

some other venues will incl: the essence of spain by warhorse, trolling deep in a mountain lake by trollhole, and a zillion other specialties by all the guys who've loved to help others here.

maybe even computer prgrmg by franki
and how to dodge bullets by ross

My pop is now 68 and still works part time for the medical benefits. First thing I would do is make sure he does not ever have to work another day. (Although he probably would anyway)

----------------
Flathead

Re: What would you do everyone answer

A million bucks don't get you very far these days, but I'm not sure I'd do a lot different. I like working, I like fishing and such--don't know if I want to be a part of any fishing club, as I love to go off in some secluded area in Puget Sound or the Straits of Juan De Fuca, study an area and figure out where the salmon are and the Dungeness Crab are, bring along my golden retriever, and quietly practice (for the most part) catch and release salmon fishing in some quiet picturesque area all by myself. I do that now, so I don't suppose I need the million bucks. But if you have to get rid of it, I'll send along my address.
There are lots of "popular" areas where lots of people go to catch fish around here--I think it would surprise many around here how many areas there are that are virtually just as productive, but not nearly as popular.

Re: What would you do everyone answer

Quit my job/sell the buisness and tell the rest of the world to Ki$$ my A$$...(except all the Iboats guys)

Take about $250,000 & Buy a large sportfisherman like a 50' Bertram or similar and set it up to charter... Put the rest of the $$$,$$$.00 in a bank account with at least a 6.5% interest rate...

Dock the boat over at Walkers Cay in the Bahamas most of the time... Maybe Costa Rica too...

Sit out on the rear deck of my sportfisherman in a lounge chair sippin' iced tea, watchin' the steaks burning on the BBQ grill, occasionally poping in on the Iboats forums to see what's up with the "gang", and complaining about the cost of Bahamian Diesel fuel... :D

All Iboats Admirals, Admins, Mods, Dock Boys, Ancient Mariners, Captians with at least 400 posts, and even the illusive Moose Miller can come on down and fish with me any time they want... :D

Can ya tell that I've already thought about it?... :p

Yes well........first I would give 25% to charity, set up trust funds for the two kids, and three, live off the rest. Buy a nice big boat, and lake house. If any left I would give it to all my Iboats buddies, Oh!....buy lots of stuff from Iboats!!!

Pay off everything then take what is left and use it to hire someone to take care of dad full time so mom and I can rest a little more.

Re: What would you do everyone answer

I'd probrably give 25% to charity as well. Then I would have some apartment complexes built. I would then use the profits from the first complexes to build more and more and more. Eventually, I would open up businesses in many many different fields to make more and more and more money. Then I would start giving it away. I would try to end all world hunger and suffering. Then I would probrably run for office(governor or possibly president). I wouldn't run for the money. Remember, I'm already filthy rich. Then I would make changes for the good of this country. I would try to repeal NAFTA. I would then try to effectively end affirmative action(this doesn't end bigotry of descrimination but rather intensifies it). I would make it clear that this is America and we speak ENGLISH and if you want to be a citizen or work here then by God you better SPEAK ENGLISH TOO!! We won't be putting up road signs in both english and spanish. NO more special loan programs for people who weren't born in this country. All current laws will be strictly enforced and those that aren't necessary I would try to have them repealed. There would NEVER be any consideration at all for retribution for slavery. I never owned a slave and no-one alive today in this country has been a slave or owned one in this country. Quit trying to STEAL my money from me Jesse Jackson and Gang! Prisons would become work houses and factories. There should be no expenditure to society for the upkeep of prisons. The prisoners would grow their own food. What they grow will be ground up into goop for them to eat. It would provide all the basic nutrition they require. For good behavior they may be allowed to enjoy a real meal occasionally. If they wanted electricity they would ride bicycles for it. If they wanted heat they would chop their own wood. Any surplus products would be sold to pay the guards and to maintain the facility. I bet that would deter people from crime. Instead of enticing them into it for the three square meals and a warm place to stay, they would work their butts off for little return. Then they would eat goop(like that stuff on The Matrix). Then for all those lazy SOB's that aren't truely hurt and don't deserve their free ride, I would institute government work programs for them to earn their checks each month. They would be paid $6.00 an hour. It wouldn't matter what the job is as long as they are working. It could be something as easy as stuffing envelopes and picking up trash to something hard like building bridges. Don't get me wrong, It wouldn't turn socialist. People would still be encouraged to get out and work for private companies for the better pay. THe primary goal of the program is to deter people from abusing the system. Then, with all the money we save from having to pay for fat as@#s to lay around all day, we could increase research into alternative energy sources, into a cure for cancer, and into developing New forms of transportation(such as anti-gravitation and ion engines :p ). Another thing is I wouldn't care one bit about being politically correct. I would tell it like it is, plain and simple. If ya don't like it, tough $#!@. Well, I guess that's what I'd try to do :D :D . Would any of you vote for me  :D ?

James

Jee.....u got my vote, oh and I forgot, I would keep working my current job, as after getting my large boat and house, the rest of the $$$$ would go to the wife, I figure...2 weekends at the local mall, and she'd be back for more $$$$.

A man said his credit card was stolen but he decided not to report it because the thief was spending less than his wife did! ;)

Re: What would you do everyone answer

First off, I would make sure the family was taken care of.
I would give each of my 3 kids a certain amount and tell them to spend it wisely cause thats all their getting.
I would then build a shelter for all the homeless vets that are out there, make sure that they had medical treatment if necessary and then if anything left would spend it on my wife and myself.

Re: What would you do everyone answer

That's really easy! We'd build iboats even better, making it even easier to navigate and more helpful to visitors than it is now in certain areas, and we'd add a lot of additional great content. We'd also take better advantage of our position as the #1 boating site online to partner with additional dealers and suppliers. The more boat dealers that we can get to sign up with us, the more we can help them to list their new and used boats online with us, and the more boats they will then sell. That becomes a win win for the dealers and for the public as we'd have an even bigger list of boats for sale for consumers who visit us online. I could go on and on...but I'm sure you'd rather I don't! :D In a word (or two), we're having great fun now with iboats.com, and we'd have even more with the added growth capital to do a lot of added things that we are planning, but that will take more time than we would like. Thanks to all of you for helping iboats be what it is today! Safe boating! BV
