Replacing the transom in the 76 Starcraft Aluminum. Drilled oversize holes for the mounting hardware with plans to drill actual size during installation. Can I coat with another layer of resin put it back together and drill the regular size holes and fill with silicone caulk when putting the bolts in. Another thought would be to redrill the oversize holes and make the resin paste even thicker with the wood flour. I'm open for suggestions. The picture is a 2 inch oversize for the back splash drains. I also have some 1" holes for the mounting bolts that had the cracks also. Appreciate your thoughts.

Is that entire hole filled with resin? Two inches is a big hole to just fill with resin/filler, plus, resin is not that strong without out the glass. If it were me, I'd remove all the resin and feather it out and strart glassing it to plug the hole. You could also make a wood plug to fill the hole and glass both sides with a couple layers.

You might want to ask over in the restoration forum as they do this stuff every day.
