What went here?

Working on my new-to-me 1978 Starcraft Holiday V5 14' Runabout

Found these two places, on under the dash, and one at the stern, where something was once attached. Both things seem to be (oe were) made of red plastic. Both (the bits that remain) appear sun faded enough to have been original / factory (but of course I have no way of knowing).

Any idea on what these were / what went here?

Red plastic screwed to the hull? Near the helm & near the motor?

When did they ever make a V5 smaller than 18' ?
