Boat and motor weigh 750 Lbs. no gear or fuel. The whole package trailer included weighs 1160 Lbs.. What weight capacity spring should I be replacing it with, per side? The trailer is rated for 750 Lbs. , so I know I am at my limit now.

Some trailer manufactures use the same frame with different spring, axle and tire combinations at achieve different weight ratings.

If your trailer "frame" can handle the weight, that is one thing. But the axle AND springs have to be able to handle the weight as well. So it is a total package deal. If your springs are flattened, it tells me there is a problem. So at a minimum, new axle AND springs are the least. But if the actual frame isn't up to the task, it is an accident waiting to happen... If you don't know if the frame is capable, take it to a shop that can evaluate it and tell you the truth. Then IF the frame can handle the weight, get the new axle and springs. Most axle and springs will tell you how much weight they are designed to handle on them. Let that be your guide...

The package I'm referring to was a stock package except for the up grade in the motor of about 80 Lbs. I have troubles believing that that frame will not handle an extra 100Lbs. or so. I have upgraded the tires from 590Lbs. to 720Lbs. each. The hubs handle 1250Llbs. a piece. I don't know what the axle is rated for( 1 inch spindle). Thought the springs would be the first place to up grade even though the old ones show no sign of sagging. When things are rated for a certain weight don't the manufactures allow for a little extra or does the unit fail at that exact weight?
Thanks for the input

Things do not fail at a specific point, there are several engineering factors in the calculations.
What does happen though is that the manufacturer guarantees that the trailer will work and be safe at a certain load.
Above that the trailer may work just fine but if you have a failure leading to an accident you could be on the line - not the manufacturer as you operated outside their approved parameters.

You mist likely have a 1,500 lbs or a 2,000 lbs axle. If this is a fairly new package there should still be a decal on the axle itself telling you what capacity it is.

The trailer is rated to handle a load limit of 750lbs.. The boat and motor weigh 750lbs. How is this way over? Does 60lbs. of gas tip the scales that much? I am looking for advice on weather this trailer needs upgrades or not and what they may be if needed. Would a trailer shop be able to determine if the trailer was up to the task?

I bought a trailer that had single leaf springs, load A tires and 3/4" bearings. I put new 3 leaf springs rated at 750 pounds each and load B tires I'm still using the 3/4" axle. I have my duck hunting jon boat on it total weight of boat and trailer around 700 pounds.

What they are trying to explain, if you upgrade the axle, springs, hubs, tires this will make no difference if the trailer frame is not able to withstand the weight. A trailer shop should be able to tell if the frame is able to carry the weight of the boat. Make sure to calculate weight of any additional gear and gas, going over a weight limit can have dangerous consequences. If your setup is right at the limit i would say to shoot for a slightly stronger trailer. JMO

Is the trailer rated for 750# including its own weight or not?
