we are putting twin evinrude 130 on a project boat and this may be a dumb question but what way should the props go? in to eachother or away from eachother?
If you turn them in it will tend to raise the stern and possibly - possibly - pick up some mph on a V bottom. Depends a lot on hull configuration (like bow entry), which we don't have a lot of that info now. You just about always want to turn them in (cr on the starboard side) on a cat (tunnel) hull.
Just re-read your question and it seems you may be asking about toe in vs toe out rather than prop rotation. On a V bottom you want them toed in slightly (props further apart compared to the gearcase nose), about 1/8" to 3/8" inch. Again depending on hull configuration.
