I was fishing from the bank of the Susquehanna river in Northeast PA Saturday morning and I hear a big splash. It was only about 2 feet out in shallow water (6"). So I walk over and a few minutes later it splashed again about 25 feet up the shore from where it last did. It kept splashing around almost like it was trying to jump out of the water and onto the shore. It kept doing this all morning every 10 minutes or so. It was definitely big, not a bass. We have muskies in the river but I wouldn't believe they would be up on the shore like that. I was trying to get a look at it but the splash was too quick and big to get a good look at the fish.

ANYONE HAVE A CLUE?

never heard of a gar. I don't think we have them here. I just looked on the PA fish and boat commission website and they are not listed on there.

Yes its carp..they are doing the same thing here...big 20-30 pounders just jumping out of the water....its normal...

bait the area the day before and get a good carp setup and catch one..and hold on...bad azz fighters

I'm late on this thread but it sounds like carp spawning to me.
