what type oil filter?

96 mercruiser 3.0lx alpha one

need to know what kind of oil filter/type of oil(the old filter in it now is a sierra 18-7876)? can i buy at walmart? or whats the comparable one to a vehicle filter?

Also, what kind of oil for outdrive?

go to local merc dealer

get mercruiser sterndrive oil filter for GM V-8, its the same as the 4 Cyl

25W-40 oil, or SAE 30

quicksilver high performance gear lube is the ONLY lube i would put in an alpha drive

And you can get the above stuff at most Walmarts

Ayuh,.... You'll need 2 qts. to do the job, 'n the pump to put it in...

You need an impeller to fit yer Alpha 1, Gen.II...

Ayuh,... Gaskets, 'n o-rings are not known to be Reusable parts...
