1989 Bayliner Capri OMC 2.3 Cobra. What type of oil should I use in my trim motor? Would the outdrive gear oil be ok?

Outdrive oil would work but is a little stiff. You can use motor oil, ATF or power steering fluid (hydraulic oil).

FORGET THE OIL! Those housings are never water tight, use marine grade greas and pack the hell out of it. you will only have to check for water once a year. The grease will keep the water out of your clutches and not breakdown like oil does.

He has a Cobra drive, not a stringer.
