Currently the rollers on my trailer are damaging the boat. They are a hard material, not exactly sure what they are made of. I want to replace them with something softer. The iboats store has so many choices, I dont know what to get. this is what type of roller is on now.

Can I change to a vee style roller to reduce the pressure on the keel or should I stay with the flat design That's on there now?

On my old boat, a 16 ft Starcraft V-hull, I had the self centering keel rollers. They worked great. My new-old boat doesn't have keel rollers on the trailer. You can find them here

Rollers of any recent vintage shouldn't damage your boat. Replace them with new ones and you should be fine, the material shouldn't matter since neither rubber or polyurethane rollers are designed to damage your boat.

Your old ones are probably rock hard from age.

Re: what type of keel rollers?

Thanks guys...

I had seen the self centering rollers, but I am on an extreme budget right now so they were a little out of my price range.

Ya, the rollers on there are hard, very hard.

I just went with a basic roller for now to stop the damage from getting worse. http://www.iboats.com/Spool_Roller_...6639567--**********.166672274--view_id.215378

at tax time over the winter, I convinced my wife to give me a $1500 boat budget to do the floor/transom project, so hopefully i'll have enough left over to get some nicer rollers, maybe some self centering ones.
