I am fairly handy and have a SELOC manual, but my tools could stand to be spruced up. I am curious in general what tools I should have if I want to install/ replace impeller- water pump, fuel pump, rebuild/ clean carbs, replace fuel line under cowling etc...Thanks for any and all help

Thanks

I would also get the factory manual for your motor, it will call for any special tools you need. Generally if you have some basic hand tools it will get you started. I started with a basic set and $20,000 later there is always something new I want. Wife says it's a man thing.

Keep an eye open for someone retiring from the Nascar circuit and you might be able to pick up a good starter set of 9.9 tools and trailer from them. Don't buy a valve grinder though. Just kidding of course. You probably have most tools already. A digital temp. reader is very handy and you will need a puller for the flywheel and eventually you'll need a spark checker with an adjustable gap and a pump for gear case oil. No special tool required for the impeller replacement. Here is a site I consider to be a must read for all 9.9 and 15 owners with tons of useful information. Best of luck. Rick.
