i have a early 70's merc 115 6 cyl i removed the carbs as i had a fuel delivery problem found a plastic bag in the intake from when the boat shop rebuilt the engine and carbs i removed the front mounting plate and disconnected the wires they were red, white, brown, green i made notes to reinstall them and when i reassembled everything i could not get the engine to start. I checked for spark and have none when i disconnected the wires i inadvertently disconnected the green one from both ends it is now connected to the green post on what i believe to be the cdi box and the other end is connect to what i believe is the coil it is located below the distributor. Have i committed a fatal error when i disconnected the box or have i reinstalled it wrong i am not able to buy a manual rite now and my computer went down so i cannot load large files onto the computers i am borrowing. I have access to another engine like mine i will go look at his if i can co ordinate our schedules but wanted to ask here first. I have been trying to get this boat going for a month but the plastic gab really made me work at it i would appreciatte all replies as it is obvious i did something wrong feel free to let me know how, when i goofed so i can learn from my mistakes. Thank You for all the previous and future help
