So I have a 1982 Evinrude 115HP. Just purchased this boat last month. Unsure of any previous issues. So here are the symptoms. It starts somewhat hard, starts & stalls starts & stalls. I found the cold start guide on here and I think I'm getting better at sarting it. Next it doesn't like to run at a "no wake" speed at first. Pressing the key in breifly does keep it runing at times. Once I get out of the "no wake" zone the thing runs like a champ. Pulls the kids on the tube fine. then seem's to go at slow speed fine for awhile and may cough and sputter once and awhile. So today after having on the lake put on trailer, back to house 5 min ride. Pulled all my plugs, advanced to full throttle w/key off. Used jumpers to cross over starter solenoid. Here are the compression test results: Top L 125, Bottom L 125, Top R 100, Bottom R 115. So origonaly I was thinking I should pull and rebuild my carbs, but now that cyl. with the 100 psi has me thinking it could be that? Really Really on a tight budget!! But who then agian who isin't right. So what would you do??????? Thanks all for your help.
