Unfortunate your on short schedule and your staying over on Grand Isle. Figure 45 minutes to the Canadian side to see the falls. Don't forget your passport. Drivers license don't work.

Run down up to Niagara on the Lake for lunch and a little shopping.

Lots to see and do. Actually, you're in a pretty central location (very close to my marina) if you're interested in seeing how well the Buffalo waterfront has come along. Yes, the Canadian side is beautiful (Horseshoe Falls), but there's plenty in the good ole U.S. too. Maid of the mist is always good, a bit touristy but is is awesome (real use of that word) boating up near base of the Falls. I just did the Whirpool Jet Boat for the first time last weekend out of nearby Lewiston, NY - right up into class 5 rapids on a jet boat with 3, 500 hp turbo-diesels. I could go on and on...

Oh yes everybody HAS to ride the "Maid of the mist" boat ride. It goes up to the falls so closes that the wind coming off the falls is amazing. But really the best view is from the Canadian side. And unless they changed things since we've been there, your driver's license is all you need to go to the Canadian side. But we took the tour bus ride also and that could be the difference... IDK! A lot of places on the American side were closed and boarded up. So it looked like a ghost town. But the Canadian side had a lot of things going on... JMHO!

yeah we planned a Canerdian visit; we have passports so we are good to go.

prob wont do the boat ride; when we went to Paris we did not visit the Tower - that's what EVERYONE does so we chose not to.

I'm sure the burglars that are going to rob your house while you're away really appreciate you posting your itinerary online!

Uh-huh, and sometimes those are the people you have to worry about more than strangers...

Not here they know the code and have a key to the house. Both neighbors conceal and carry as well as three of the four friends that live close by. And they boys know where ours are and how to operate them. Everyone is taking shifts.

I love living here......

Lots to do on the Canuck side. Niagara on the Lake is just a short ride and nice for lunch and shopping. Several vineyard tours in the area with free samples. Good falls view from several places and there's a pretty good casino if that's your thing.. Canadian dollar is real weak now so a very favorable exchange rate for your dollar. Look closely at your bill on the Canadian side. The locals have an extra business improvement (or some such carp) tax. This is NOT mandatory to pay. You can refuse.
