Besides hitting a rock and blowing out the lower unit.. I got a DT 25 hp 1977 Suzuki I have replace foward/reverse and the pinion gear and the clutch dog and some shift linkage ..I also bought a shop manual,, I put the whole package back together according to specs (I think) any ways I ran it for about 5 hrs and check the oil and found metal in it , So I took it apart again and found that all the bearings had lost all there crome ?????? the oil also had a slight burnt smell, the oil that I used was Valvoline lower unit oil, it can be used in all outboards .... does any know what could have gone wrong???? Is there a place that I could send the lower unit to , so that it could be rebuilt by some one that has done this before ?? thank you for any help.. Fly fisher
