yeah. How am I supposed to work when I am worried about Iboats all day?? I even called my computer guru at work and made sure that I had not been blocked from the site by the medical director!! haha guess I busted myself at work for no reason <br />glad its back....steve-dont press the glowing red button anymore, its the power!!!

Hi all. You would think that we would learn how to be professional server-geeks at iboats by now. Here is what happened:<br /><br />First, we lost no data so don't worry about your posts. iboats owns our own servers. We house them at a co-location facility here in Salt Lake City. The co-location facility provides our security, power, generator and battery back-ups, and the bandwidth into the backbone of the Internet. We moved to a new co-location facility still in Salt Lake at 2am Thursday morning.<br /><br />Not many things went right in the move. Our CEO is less than pleased with the move so you all don't have to rag on Steve that much. He and his team did their best and it just took us 19 hours to get things right instead of the anticipated 5 hours. <br /><br />Is there any good news to this? Yes. We are now in an even better facility with larger and quicker connections. We basically have a fiber cable that now plugs right into one of the major backbones of the Internet in the next room over from our servers. We also learned our lessons from 2 months ago and we had plenty of good backups if problems showed their ugly faces - which they did.<br /><br />Thanks for all of your patience and most importantly, have a very happy holidays!

Admin5, thanks for the info. We can't complain it's free. Moving locations and co-locatin sites are some of the hardest thing to do. You rely on other people that may forget to do certain things. It happens. Hopefully only once.

Thank you Admin5. <br />As Scoop and Beaux said. <br />Nice to know what happend and why. I'm fine. I can do other things, but as an addict you scared me. A little. I have no idea what time you have over there. I thought it was some regular maintenance at low traffic hours. <br />And if Steve is a real person, hard working and all, I wouldn't blame him. It is a joke since he lost a lot of posts during backup. We wasn't sure he is a real person. But again, isn't that just fair? Doing a five hour job in 19 hours...<br /><br />Anyway, I'm very happy with this site, the speed (even before), how it is administrated, the knowledge, all the nice people, the discussions some members have (even the ugly ones, discussions - not the members). This site is exellent. Just think what you would do without it. Get it? - no iboats.com. Sure, get a life. Go fishing. I will. In the spring. But I can always find an hour or two to hang around here. I learn something every day here. If I can pass it on and make someonelse happy, I'm happy too. <br /><br />So thank you all, Happy Holiday and Merry X-mas.

Hey, I noticed a problem and just blamed the usual suspect LOL anyway it's fun to have someone to pick on when things go wrong even if it's not his fault. Thanks for making things better and better.

Hey Steve where are you? And how did you get a team? Does this mean we can no bash the team as well. JUST KIDDIG> Am glad iboats is growing and I guess this is just a growing pain. Thanks for the great site.
