Hello,

I have a 1991 Johnson 120 V4 with a 3 bladed aluminum 14 x 19 and would like more top speed. What size and type stainless replacement should I look for.

With the current prop, she's able to manage 5700 RPM @ 45 at WOT and trimmed out.

Thanks,

That's about 14% slip. It should get better with a stainless prop. For performance look for a Raker or Turbo Lightning Jr or a Pro Tour. All will be 13 1/2" diameter. Plan on raising the motor. Don't be surprised if you end up with a jackplate but don't worry about that yet.

So get one with the same pitch? 13 1/2 x 19?

Thanks for the reply

well based on my experience, I have a 1993 120 v4 looper, pretty much the same engine as yours. I am running a 18 pitch Raker SS. I love it, great hole shot and when you trim it up and get that prop on the surface the boat flies! i'd say a raker prop would work well for you.

I have almost the exact same engine. I am curious to how fast you are running with that raker prop and what pitch are you using. I have 1990Evinrude 115 turning 5500rpm @ 47mph. How is the hole shot?
