what size prop should i use

i have a 1990 johnson gt 150 on a 1987 ranger 360v im wanting to change props. has on it now a 14.5x19 mich wheel wot 5300rpm top speed 43 mph no jack plate. i think the setup should run in the 50s i was thinking of a raker 14.5x20 the hole shot is good gets up and plans fast as is .want more top end would a prop change help if so am i on the right track with the raker and size. ive had a few pople say the motor runs best a 5800 is this true ?

Back in the days when I was a bass boater, a 92 Ranger 396V Comanche/150 Johnson FastStrike ran about 50 MPH with a 4 blade SS prop at WOT.

I believe it was an 18" pitch model.
Back then, if I recall, the 4 blades were an even number pitch and the 3 blades were an odd number.

Most dealers will allow you to test a SS prop before you plunk down the big money.
