i didn't know and was trying to figure it out on my own but when i looked at the new motors for sale on iboats site, the sizes are given in inches, when you see them for sale used, the seller describes them as long or short. i now know i have a long shaft at 20" and have been advised that the 15" short shaft would be best for a kicker on my boat. am i right thinking since it wont be at planeing speed that prop will stay beneath the water line?

the one pic you can see the waterline stain
