I just bought a 17 1/2' Sea Nymph with a 115 Evinrude. It is semi-shallow vee. I want to make a "rocking chair" anchor for it but I am curious as to the weight. Can someone give me an idea. I will be fishing in moderate wind and very little, if any, current. I have been told everything from a #5 to a #45 anchor! Please help, I am a nooby!:D

The bottom material that you will anchoring in has a lot to do with your choice. A soft, mushy bottom might need nothing more than a 15 lb. mushroom. Harder material will - of course - need something like a CQR or similiar. Give some thought to that and make your decision from there.
A boat that size with the parameters you mentioned might get by with a cinder block !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D
