What should I check on OMC Sterndrive?

Hello guys, I have an OMC 305 engine with sterndrive.

I want to ask you guys what should I check in the gimbal housing and drive for reparation. I have them removed from the boat. I know on the gimbal housing I should replace the bearing with bellows, but should I replace something else? Same thing for the drive should I check/replace something before putting it back in the boat.

Get the genuine OMC service manual for your model and not the “bootleg” one.

Not saying yours will need these but I needed to change the steering bushings and seals on the top and bottom of the transom housing(where it swivels).
I had alot of back and forth play on mine, but like Kenny said a genuine manual is a must.
I found mine on a free download site but due to rules I can't post the link.
