IM PURCHASING A NEW MOTOR, 15HP, AND THEY COME IN 15",20" AND 25" SHAFTS. MY GREGOR BOAT TRANSON IS 16"DEEP FROM TOP WHERE MOTOR RESTS TO BOTTOM OF KEEL. WHEN THE MFG LISTS SAY 15", WHERE ARE THEY MEASURING FROM?

Re: WHAT SHAFT LENGTH?

You need the 15" shaft. The rear of you boat is on an angle, compared to the bottom of the boat.

Measure straight down (with the bottom of the boat level), and it should be real close to 15 inches.

You can use a carpenter's square too.
